Auto Trader has launched a new web service, taking the motor trading company into the new car market, reports New Media Age.
Research conducted by the group earlier in the year, found that 53 per cent of UK car buyers would be interested in an online new car function and many others requested more guidance regarding where to purchase a new motor.
Auto Trader's Tom White said: "Our research clearly demonstrates a gap in the UK market to offer consumers a full start-to-finish solution when buying a new car."
autotrader.co.uk boasts: "Search and compare the widest range of new cars on Auto Trader. From sourcing car dealers and booking test drives to aiding your decision with our unique compare tool and real owner reviews, Auto Trader finds the best new car deal for you."
The new website design is a one stop shop for purchasing new cars, allowing users to search by body type or make, model and price. Those completely undecided can browse at the new car gallery, split into 'our favourite coupes,' 'convertible fun,' 'the best eco cars' and 'great people carriers.'
The search function requires a postcode and displays a list of models, as per the prescribed search criteria, that are available in the buyer's local area. It then enables the user to compare insurance quotes on the vehicle.
The website also provides guidance in setting budgets, how to pay for a new car and 'doing the paperwork.'
